Der Briefempfänger Maurice Fenaille (1855-1937), französischer Geschäftsmann und Pionier der Erdöl-Industrie, war Verfasser des Werks "État général des tapisseries de la manufacture des Gobelins depuis son origine jusqu'à nos jours" (Paris, Hachette 1903-1907). - Kanten und Ecken geringfügig berieben, sehr schönes Exemplar der Luxusausgabe in prachtvollen Handeinbänden des bedeutenden schwedischen Hof-Buchbinders Gustaf Hedberg (1859-1920). - One of 200 numbered copies of the deluxe edition of the important carpet collection. With signed letter from J. Böttiger to Maurice Fenaille dated September 4, 1923 (with envelope). - I. Bötticher received his doctorate in 1873 and was Indendant of the art collections of Oscar II from 1885, archivist at the Swedish court from 1892, First Court Intendant in 1904 and Superintendant in 1907. The recipient of the letter, Maurice Fenaille (1855-1937), French businessman and pioneer of the oil industry, was the author of the work “État général des tapisseries de la manufacture des Gobelins depuis son origine jusqu'à nos jours” (Paris, Hachette 1903-1907). - Edges and corners slightly rubbed, a very fine copy of the deluxe edition in splendid bindings by the important Swedish court bookbinder Gustaf Hedberg (1859-1920).
